It seems that Sonic’s world is set to become even bigger and more exciting throughout 2024 and 2025! A franchise on an undeniable rise, placing it alongside favourite characters among the 3-10 boys target demographic, alongside Spiderman and Pokemon. Following the extraordinary success of the second film in 2022, with over $400 million of box-office, the popular blue hedgehog returns to cinemas in January 2025 with the sequel “Sonic The Hedgehog 3”. The film adds to the many Sonic-centric content offerings, including gaming (where it all began) boasting over 1 billion downloads, animated series streaming on Netflix, and the spin-off “Knuckles” on Paramount+, as well as its presence on platforms like Roblox and Minecraft, Lego games, comics, and many other consumer products. The movie aims, as did the second, to expand its target audience, appealing to a new community that includes Gen Z and Gen Alpha, as well as families. Executive producer Toby Ascher commented on the film, stating: “We knew that, with the introduction of Shadow in Sonic 3 (…), the Sonic franchise from a cinematic standpoint would be an event on the level of the Avengers.” In short, everything seems to be in place for another successful outing. Over the years, Sonic has been featured in numerous fashion collaborations, with one of the most notable being with Puma, which produced an extensive collection featuring a wide range of products, from t-shirts to sneakers. Additionally, H&M, Zara, and many international and Italian retailers have created capsule collections featuring Sonic and his adventure companions, with amazing sell thru results. Sonic’s style will be for Sabor an explosion of vibrant colours, neon details, and fun prints that capture all the energy of this winning franchise.
